I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but I hope the one who does finds his/her way to this post.
I found myself at a random Wendy’s in the middle of nowhere. I was craving a chocolate frosty. It was a young girl, Hannah, who took my order. At least that’s what her name tag said. On the wall beside her in big bold letters I saw “John 3:17”.
Everyone knows John 3:16, “For God so loved that world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” But I stood there and thought about the words that came after. Hannah handed me my frosty, I thanked her and walked out. I stood outside my car and read the following words out loud “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him”.
“I wish I was not defined by things I regret I have done.” How often we speak those words and yet, we are judged harshly by the world, people, the church, family, society, and so on. To the person who needs to hear this, God wants you to know he loves you and does not condemn you so neither do you have to condemn or punish yourself. If God sees you as worth loving, you must be worth loving. You must be what he’s here to save.
